Funeral services for 46-year-old  Walitaka “Wali” Bear Runner are Sat, Dec 3, 2022 at 2:00 at Father Pauly Hall in Porcupine, SD, with traditional Lakota services by Mr Waylon Gaddie 

Cremation to follow services with burial at a later date.

A one-night wake service starts at 11:00 AM, Friday, Dec 2, at 11:00 at Father Pauly Hall in Porcupine,

Walitaka Win Bear Runner was born on February 3, 1976 in Pine Ridge, SD to Edgar Bear Runner I and Violet (Yellow Cloud) Bear Runner. Walitaka made her journey to the Spirit World on November 21, 2022 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.

Walitaka is survived by her mother Violet Bear Runner; sisters Wambli (Stacy), Wakinyan (Rigoberto), and Wakispe, all of Rapid City, SD and Wamniyomni (Jesse) of Martin, SD; brothers Steven (Veronica) of Sioux Falls, SD, Edgar II, Joseph, Samuel, and Richard, all of Rapid City, SD; aunts Beldine White Eyes, Harriett Hollow Horn, Wilma Yellow Cloud and Geneva Yellow Cloud; uncles Virgil Yellow Cloud, Terry Yellow Cloud, Roger Yellow Cloud, Duane Yellow Cloud, Jesse Yellow loud, Ramon Bear Runner, and Dennis Bear Runner; grandparents Barney White Face and Alvina Feather Earring; godchildren Taylor Quiver and Ashley Cedar Face; 43 nieces and nephews and 10 grandchildren.

Walitaka was preceded in death by her father Edgar Bear Runner I; nephews Donroy Little Spotted Horse, James and Thomas St John; aunts Leola Quiver, Lillian Bear Runner, and Dorothy Sandoval; uncles Steven and Emmanuel Yellow Cloud, Harold, Donald, and Leslie Bear Runner; maternal grandparents Winnifred Janis and Harris Yellow Cloud; paternal grandparents Grace and Oscar Bear Runner; cousins Liberty and Acorn Adams, Marty and Colbert Richards, and Stella and Anthony White Eyes; and life-long partner Edwin Kills In Water.

Pallbearers will be Terry Yellow Cloud, Virgil Yellow Cloud, Roger Yellow Cloud, Duane Yellow Cloud, Frank Brave, Travis Mesteth, Robert “Beep” Quiver, and Duron Black Bear.
