Funeral Services for 64-year old Walter Red Cloud Jr are Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 10:00 at Joyner Hall in Pine Ridge, SD, with Apostle Pedro Sharpfish and Pastor Cyrus Black Elk officiating.
Burial is at the First Body of Christ Cemetery in Pine Ridge.
A one-night wake service starts Friday, August 6, 2021 at noon, also at Joyner Hall in Pine Ridge.
Walter Larvie Red Cloud Jr was born on March 30, 1957 in Pine Ridge to Walter Red Cloud Sr and Eleanor (Shields) Red Cloud. Walter Jr made his journey to the Spirit World on July 30, 2021, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.
Walter is survived by his spouse, Sonja Hernandez-Red Cloud; siblings, Gertrude Faye Red Cloud, Naomi Louise Red Cloud, and Marletta Lois Red Cloud; aunts, Audrey Shields, Edna Plenty Arrows, and Lois White Whirlwind; and 18 grandchildren.
Walter was preceded in death by his grandmother, Hazel Little Hawk; mother, Eleanor (Shields) Red Cloud; father, Walter J. Red Cloud, Sr.; aunts, Lillian Sharpfish, Agnes Little Hawk, Marie Red Cloud, Cathy Little Hawk, Celeste Brings, and Delphine Brown; uncles, Sylvan Little Hawk, Melvin Red Cloud, Herbie Star, Rudy Under Standing Crow, Wilbur Between Lodge, Burges Red Cloud, and Bill Red Cloud; brothers, Kenneth Red Cloud, Edward Shields, and Wahacanka Shields; and sister, Roberta Little Brave.
