The Wanderlust Cardinals travel program of Chadron finally leaves for Europe today, about two years later than planned because of COVID-19.
A little over 2 dozen travelers, including about a dozen current and recent Chadron High School students, are headed to Rome, Athens, and the Greek island of Crete..
Language arts teacher Jill Paopao heads up the program, assisted by fellow teacher Michael Sandstrom.
Paopao has been leading European trips every two years, but didn’t have the chance in 2020 or 2021 because the company that puts them together, EF Educational Tours, canceled all trips because of COVID.
Because of the 2-year delay, this group of Wanderlust Cardinals includes both 2021 and 2022 graduates along with 2 seniors-to-be. Most of the other spots are fill by parents.
