Funeral services for 68-year old William Emery are Sat, April 2, 2022 at 2:00 at the St Francis Community Center in St Francis, SD, with Deacon Ben Black Bear officiating and traditional Lakota services by Mr Leland Little Dog
Burial is at St Charles Catholic Cemetery in St. Francis
A two-night wake service starts Thurs, March 31, at 2:00 also at the St. Francis Community Center
William Henry Emery “Wicahpi Waunsila Mani” was born on July 17, 1953 in Rosebud, SD to Wilson & Marie (Bordeaux) Emery. William made his journey to the Spirit World on March 27, 2022 at the Rosebud I.H.S. Hospital in Rosebud, SD.
William is survived by his daughters, Eileen Emery, Elaine Emery, and Serena Emery; son, Nicholas C. Emery; brother, Wilson “Boots” Emery; sisters, Carolyn “Sweetie Pie” Emery-Richards and Eileen “Toonie” Emery-Lunderman; grandchildren, Nicholas J. Emery, Conner McCloskey, Colin McCloskey, Michael Jones, Gabriel Jones, Caleb Emery, Melissa Eagleman, Dustie Sharpfish, & Austin Sharpfish; and great grandchildren, Liam Emery, Adrius Emery, Theresa Provencial, Eben Provencial, Isabelle Provencial, Zapta DeNoyer, Everleigh DeNoyer, Kai DeNoyer, Sophia DeNoyer, and Emorie DeNoyer.
William was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson “Dude” Emery and Marie Bordeaux-Emery; brothers, Gerald “Butch” Emery, Roger Emery, Edward Emery, and David Emery; and daughter, Althea “Tia” Emery.
Pallbearers will be Nicholas J. Emery, Conner McCloskey, Colin McCloskey, Troy McCloskey, Michael Jones, Jr., James Richards, Eric Emery, and Matthew Scott.
Honorary pallbearers will be Leland Little Dog, Stanley Red Bird, Jr., David Halmi, Tom Cox, Maurice Valdez, Rita Means, Edward Schmidt, Past & Present Alumni Staff & Faculty of Sinte Gleska University, S.F.I.S. Class of 1971, and All Close Friends & Relatives.
