Funeral services for 53-year old William Harold Good Voice Elk III are Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 1:00 at the Wilma Good Voice Elk residence in Oglala, SD, with Apostle Pedro Sharpfish officiating, traditional Lakota services by Mr Keith Horse Looking, and special songs by the Elk Nations Singers
Burial will be at the Hehaka Sundance Grounds, 6 miles north of Oglala
A two-night wake service starts Thursday, July 22, at 1:00, also at the Wilma Good Voice Elk residence in Oglala
William Harold Good Voice Elk III was born on April 22, 1968 in Scottsbluff, NE to William Good Voice Elk II and Rosemary Brings Him Back. William made his journey to the Spirit World on July 17, 2021 at the Pine Ridge I.H.S. Hospital in Pine Ridge, SD.
William is survived by his children, Bow, Lakota, Terrance, and Chante Scuya Good Voice Elk; significant other, Johanna DuBray; siblings, Antoinette Hunter, Wilma Good Voice Elk, Grace Good Voice Elk, Monique Crawford, Martha Diaz, Charles Good Voice Elk, Sr., Stanley Good Voice Elk, Sr., Theresa Rosseau and Deloris Walks Out; 6 grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, & cousins.
William was preceded in death by his parents, William Good Voice Elk II and Rosemary Brings Him Back; son, William Good Voice Elk IV; sister, Delma Good Voice Elk; grandparents, William, Sr. and Winnie (Sitting Eagle) Good Voice Elk and Phillip & Ruth (Yellow Bear) Brings Him Back.
Pallbearers will be Charley Red Cloud, Wakinyan Little Moon, Mark Iron Cloud, Chris Lone Elk, Emilio Walks Out, John Elk Boy, Sr., Mario Simental, Brian Brings Him Back, Sr., Emmet Kelly, and Mitchell High Hawk, Jr..
