WNCC Listening Tour Coming To Chadron On Monday

Loading

Last year, Western Nebraska Community College leaders conducted a listening tour to all 12 counties the school serves to find out what the public saw as WNCC’s strengths and weaknesses as well as how to improve in all areas.

The input helped form the school’s new Strategic Plan, adopted by the board earlier this year.

Now, Interim President Dr John Marrin and members of his leadership team are conducting another listening tour on the plan with Chadron the next stop tomorrow afternoon from 1-2:30 at the Bean Broker.

Dr Marrin says they’ll discuss the Strategic Plan, how WNCC is responding to the ideas and requests gathered from last year’s tour, and the school’s new Construction Trades program.

They’ll also talk about last week’s announcement that Greg Dart, chief campus administrator at Utah State University – Eastern, has been selected as the next president of WNCC and will take over this summer.

WNCC had been without a permanent president since the unexpected resignation nearly 2 years ago of Dr Carmen Simone .

Marrin, the retired president of Lamar Community College in Colorado and a longtime former WNCC administrator, has been serving as interim president since then.
