Work is set to begin on the US 26/Link 62 A, Heartland Expressway Project in Scottsbluff and Morrill Counties.
The Nebraska Department of Transportation said work is set to begin on June 8th along Highway 26 between reference post 32.91 and 41.91 and on Link 62 A between reference post 0.00 and 9.19 which is east of Minatare to what is commonly known as the Angora turnoff.
Paul Reed Construction and Supply out of Gering is the contractor for the project which includes grading, concrete pavement, culverts, bridge construction, lighting, guardrail and seeding. The speed limit will be reduced in work areas along with a 12 foot width restriction being in effect. Work is anticipated to be completed in October of 2027.
