The Wyoming High Patrol says one driver was killed and the other hospitalized following a head-on collision on a rural road early Wednesday evening near Rock Springs.
Killed was 28-year old Wyoming resident Adam Tyler. The name of the injured person has not been released.
The Highway Patrol says Tyler was eastbound about 6:15 pm when he failed to negotiate a right-hand curve, crossed the centerline, and collided with an on-coming pickup.
Tyler was not wearing a seat and died of his injuries. The Patrol has not released whether the pickup driver was belted or the extent of his injuries.
Speed and driver inattention are being investigated as possible contributing factors to the crash..
Adam Tyler was the 17th traffic fatality in Wyoming so far this year, the most in the last 5 years. There were only 4 deaths at this time last year and 5 in 2020, but 14 in 2021 and 16 in 2019.
