Burial will be at St Paul’s Episcopal Cemetery in Norris, SD
A one-night wake service starts Friday, May 21, at 1:00 CT, also at the Corn Creek Community Hall
Basil Trudell Black Bear was born on February 26, 1966 in Rosebud, SD to Gerald Black Bear, Sr. and Evangeline Long Warrior. Basil made his journey to the Spirit World on May 15, 2021 Corn Creek, SD.
Basil is survived by his son, Christopher (Jenna Grass Rope) Black Bear of He Dog, SD; sisters, Rose (Barry) Bates of Wilmer, TX, Alberta (Don) Old Lodge and Twila Black Bear both of Corn Creek, SD, and Cheryl (Leroy) Sitting Bear of Parmelee, SD; brothers, Gerald (Arlene) Black Bear, Jr., Gary Black Bear, Zack Black Bear, and Jerome (Kareen) Black Bear all of Corn Creek, SD, and Delbert (Marie) Black Bear, Sr. and Rodney (Kathy) Black Bear both of Norris, SD; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Basil was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald, Sr. and Evangeline Black Bear; brother, Larry Black Bear; nieces, Michelle & Danica Black Bear; and grandchildren, Kailee Erickson, Lois Ten Fingers, and Christopher Black Bear, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Black Bear, Sr., Charles Black Bear, Rodney Black Bear, Jr., Jason DuBray, Jeremiah Black Bear, and Garrett Sitting Bear.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Witt, Larry Star Chief, Larry Black Lance, and All Friends & Relatives.
