Chadron Boys Get To 3-3, Girls Fall In OT

The Chadron boys and girls basketball teams played their finals games in the Bird Cage of 2022 and came away with a split of Torrington.

Xander Provance had a big night in the paint with a career high 30 points as the Chadron boys defeated the Trailblazers 67-59.

The Cards had to overcome a one point halftime deficit but outscored Torrington 36-26 in the 2nd half to run their record to 3-3 on the season.

Tyler Spotted Elk hit double figures for the 2nd straight game with 15 points.

The Chadron girls got 22 points from Demi Ferguson and carried a 37-36 lead into the 4th quarter, but Torrington tied it at the end of regulation and went on for the 55-53 win.

Free throws made the difference as Chadron shot just 14-of-27 while the Blazers went 10-of-22.

Chadron is off until next Friday when they open the Rotary Holiday Tournament against Hemingford.
