Funeral services for 65-year old Coletius Rouillard are Tues, June 7, 2022 at 11:00 at the Makasan Presbyterian Church Hall in Oglala, SD, with The Rev Asa Wilson officiating and traditional Lakota services by Sam Moves Camp

Burial is at the Makasan Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Oglala

A one-night wake service starts Monday, June 6, at 1:00 at the Makasan Presbyterian Church Hall in Oglala, SD

Coletius James Rouillard was born on August 12, 1956 in Pine Ridge, SD to Rev. Samuel Rouillard and Dorothy (Stover) Rouillard.  Coletius made his journey to the Spirit World on May 27, 2022 near Piedmont, SD.

From the late 70s to the early 90s, Coletius was a well driller with OST Water and Sewer.  He was also a boxer and boxing coach in his younger days and started with a few young children teaching them how to box.  

Coletius loved to fish, spend time with his dog, visit with people, and laugh.  He was a very Traditional Man and lived his life this way.  He loved his grandchildren very much and was a wonderful grandfather, father, brother, and friend.    

Coletius is survived by his children, Amanda Rouillard, Priscilla (Waylon) Rouillard, Mavis (Myles) Rouillard, Michael (Theresa) Rouillard, Ann Jillian Rouillard, Nadine Rouillard, and August Buckman; brother, Lloyd “Ears” Rouillard; sisters, Sandra Rouillard, Carol Bravo, and Darlene Rouillard; and 29 grandchildren.

Coletius was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Samuel and Dorothy Rouillard; son, Jake Rouillard; brothers, Floyd Rouillard, his twin brother-Clarence Rouillard, and John Stover; and grandchildren, Anthony Rouillard, Bradley Lone Elk, and Miley Marshall.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Rouillard, Edward Spider, Clarence Rouillard, Jr., Eddie Stover, Lee Rouillard, Tim Bores A Hole, Raymond Rouillard, and Travis New Holy.

Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Moves Camp & Family, Vern Roubideaux & Family, Marvin Richards & Family, Mel Twiss & Family, Alfonso Belt & Family, Calvin Mills & Family, Donald “Hugo” Hillman & Family, Bob & Carol VanCleave & Family, Marvin & Valerie Janis & Family, His Sundance Brothers & Sisters, and All Friends & Relatives.
