A one-night wake service starts Friday, Feb 25, at 1:00 at the #9 Community Church in Manderson.

David Russell DeSersa, Jr. was born on January 13, 1959 in Pine Ridge, SD to David Russell DeSersa, Sr. and Betty Schirey.  David made his journey to the Spirit World on February 13, 2022 at the Pine Ridge I.H.S. Hospital in Pine Ridge, SD.

David Jr is survived by his son, Derek DeSersa Sr; daughter, Brie Jumping Bull; grandchildren, Jordana DeSersa, Destiny Sky Clites, Derek DeSersa Jr, Angel Jumping Bull, Alexander Jumping Bull, Cante Skuya Jumping Bull, Skookun Jumping Bull, Jaden Richards, and Jamie Richards; great-grandchild, Alex Roubideaux; sisters, Roselyn Williams, Joy DeSersa, Geraldine Valdez, Phyllis DeSersa, and Emily Tasey Long Pumpkin; nieces & nephews, Shelly DeSersa, Alvin Hernandez, Jr., Donald Long Soldier, Misty Hernandez, John Bradshaw, Jr., Nadine Bradshaw, Cherita Bradshaw, Gene Newson, Robert DeSersa, and Roselyn Williams Cabral; and other half, Twila Ghost.

David Jr was preceded in death by his parents, David DeSersa, Sr. and Betty Schirey; son, Alex DeSersa; grandparents, Frank & Jennie Turning Holy and Angeline and Bernard Standing Elk; aunt, Bernice Janis; sister, Gloria Gale Bradshaw; and nieces & nephews, Anthony Tony DeSersa, Brenda Hernandez, Billy Newson, Lynn Shangreaux, Terri DeSersa, JoJo Shangreaux, and Rachel DeSersa.  

Pallbearers will be Shawn Swallow, Charles Clifford, Mason Big Crow, Donovan Steele, Sherman DeSersa, Olivia DeSersa, Frank Ghost, and Lyle Wilson, Jr.
