Funeral services for 29-year old Ehani Sits Poor are Wed, March 20, 2024 at 2:00 at the Makasan Presbyterian Church Hall in Oglala, SD, with Father Joe Daoust, SJ, and Ms Joyce Tibbitts officiating and traditional Lakota services by Mr Michael Cross.
Burial is at St Peter’s Cemetery in Oglala
A two-night wake service starts Monday, March 18, at 2:00 at the Makasan Presbyterian Church Hall in Oglala with evening services at 7:00 each night.

Ehani Sits Poor was born on May 4, 1994 in Pine Ridge, SD to Milo Keith Sits Poor and Ruth Mary Bearing. Ehani made her journey to the Spirit World on March 5, 2024 in Denver, CO.
Ehani was raised in Grass Creek and Rapid City, SD. She attended Meadowbrook Elementary, Southwest Middle, Pine Ridge High School, Stevens High School, 9th Grade Academy and Evergreen Academy where she graduated in 2012.
In 2013, she had her daughter, Solara, and lived with her family until 2016 when she moved to Denver, where she went to Beauty School until she moved back to Rapid City in 2021.
Ehani’s favorite things to do were traveling, hanging out with her friends and relatives, cooking, eating good food, drawing, spoiling her baby Solara, and living her best life.
Ehani is survived by her daughter Solara Sits Poore; mother Ruth Bearing; sisters Nicole Bearing, Bonnie (Davida Respects Nothing) Sits Poore, Kimimila Sits Poore, and Adele Sits Poore; aunts Gertrude Bearing, Robyn Bearing, Genevieve Ribitsch, Jerlene Arrendondo, and Jocie (Apple) Eagle Louse; uncles Eli Bearing, Franklin (Mary Jo Risch) Sits Poor III, Kevin Sits Poor, Forrest Sits Poor, and Elton Eagle Louse; grandparents Delilah White Dress, Priscilla Long Wolf, Lucille Bores A Hole, Evelyn New Holy, and Chili White Dress; nieces Molly Swallow and Violet Marshall; nephews, Jeremiah Goode and Gabriel Hernandez; cousins Summer, Autumn, Joshua, Clint Jr, and Bryce Marshall, Tristan, Erin, Reece, Elise, Todd, and Bailey C’Bearing, Alyssa Bearing, Bo & Tawni Eagle Louse, Kristen Thunder Club, Tessie Chase In Sight, Chevia Eagle Louse, Natasha Balentine, Reva Red Feather, Amaris Swallow, Gentry Ribitsch, Paul Nava, James Bear Robe, John Bear Robe, Michael & Mitchell Sits Poor; and numerous cousins that are very much loved.
Ehani was preceded in death by her father,\ Milo Sits Poor; two children in infancy; maternal grandparents Pearl Bearing and Valentine C’Bearing; paternal grandparents Franklin Sits Poor Jr & Phyllis White Dress; aunts Monica Bearing, Corrine Bearing, Delema Lou Sits Poor, Evelyn & Marilyn Sits Poor, Rolanda Eagle Louse; uncles Melvin Sits Poor, Sunday, Darwin, Lenny, Malcolm, Darnell, Charloten, and Walter Eagle Louse; grandmother Adele Peggy White Dress; grandfather, Nevil Sits Poor; cousins Stu Sits Poor, Mahpiya Win C’Bearing, and Richard Scott; and niece Monica Pearl Swallow.
