Five Alive! Chadron Wrestlers Make History At Districts

The Chadron girls will send five wrestlers to the state tournament in Omaha after their top 4 finishes at the A-4 district tournament in Bridgeport on Saturday.

Fia Rasmussen and Kenli Boeselgaer made history as the first girls district champions at Chadron High.

Rasmussen pinned Arianna Canseco of Gering in 3:45 to win the 135-lb weight class and Kenli Boeselager Jaycee Hampton of North Platte in just :59 to capture the 145-lb title. Both girls are making a return trip, Boeselager as the defending champion at 145-lbs.

Taylee Williamson, a state returnee and last years 5th place winner at 107-lbs, lost the championship match at 110-lbs against Fransisca Walsh of Lexington by a 2-0 decision.

The pair making their first trips to state are Brooklyn Hoffman who placed 4th at 120-lbs following 12-3 major decision loss to Madalyn Pistulka of West Holt and Addie Diers who was 4th in the 155-lb weight class falling to Chloe Mader of Grand Island Northwest by pin in 1:37.

Sarah LaBere made it the 2nd day with a win in the 2nd round of consolations on Friday but, fell in the 3rd round of consolations to Beverly Bodeldyke of Norfolk who got the pin in 1:51

Norfolk won the team championship over Lexington 143-132. Chadron finished 3rd with 96 points.
