Burial is at the Makasan Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Oglala

Gerald ”Machine” M Brings Him Back was born on October 20,1948 in Shannon County, SD to Ellis Brings Him Back and Eva Forked Butte-Brings Him Back. Gerald made his journey to the spirit world on July 3, 2023 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City SD,
Gerald is survived by his wife Anna (Long Soldier) Brings Him Back; daughters Lisa Brings Him Back, Jeri Brings Him Back, and Joylinn Long Soldier, all of Pine Ridge, SD; sons Tony (Lois Cross) Long Soldier of Oglala, SD and Jason Brings Him Back of Pine Ridge, SD; sister Ruby Schluter; brother Ed Brings Him Back; and grandchildren Nasya Brings Him Back, Jalen and Ma’lea Cross & Grandsons, LaDaynia “Lala” Long Soldier, Louden Long Soldier, A’Drean Brings Him Back, Josef & Giannas Long Soldier, Anthony “Jr” and Celeste Giago.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents Ellis & Eva (Forked Butte) Brings Him Back; daughters Kristin A. and Leslie Brings Him Back; sister Illa Brings Him Back; brothers Lyle, Michael and Ellis Brings Him Back; sisters-in-law Theresa Two Bulls and Olive Brings Him Back; and nephew Lott Brings Him Back.
