The Hay Springs Hawks flew past Sioux County last Thursday in a 62-15 rout, as the Warriors’ struggled with cold-shooting and managed just a single free throw in the second half.
Dylan Young and Talan Smith led the Hawks with 14 and 12 points.
Hay Springs was up 18-7 after the first quarter and had a 38-14 advantage at half-time. Sioux County went scoreless in the third, while the Hawks added 19 to the board. A 5-1 run in favor of Hay Springs capped the game.
Cy Hughes led Sioux County with eight points. Colton Randall added three, Shane Gluth, two and Preston Kreman netted the only point of the second half for the Warriors.
Sioux County is 4-10, while the Hawks are 9-6 after also defeating Edgemont Friday 71-35. Sioux County’s scheduled Saturday contest against Morrill was cancelled due to weather.
