Funeral services for 40-year old Heather Ten Fingers are Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 11:00 at the Makasan Presbyterian Church Hall in Oglala, SD, with Pastor Asa Wilson officiating and traditional Lakota services by Mr Devin Drapeau
Burial is at St John’s Episcopal Cemetery in Oglala.
A two-night wake service starts Monday, September 20, at 4:00, also at the Makasan Presbyterian Church Hall in Oglala with evening services starting at 7:00 PM
Heather Lynn Ten Fingers was born on August 2, 1981 in Pine Ridge, SD to Theodore Ten Fingers and Violet R. (Warrior) Ten Fingers. Heather made her journey to the Spirit World on September 14, 2021 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Heather is survived by her parents, Violet R. (Warrior) Ten Fingers and Theodore W. Ten Fingers; daughters, Alexus L Arpan and Alicia L. Ten Fingers; sons, James M. Arpan, Demetrius L. Arpan, and Evan Jemahl Jones, Jr.; husband, Evan Jemahl Jones, Sr.; siblings, Leon T. Ten Fingers, Sr., Chad W, Ten Fingers, Sr. and Derek C. Ten Fingers; grandchild, Ashton Weston; aunties, Julie Warrior, Sylvia Warrior, Sandy Warrior, and Ida Warrior; and uncles, Cyril Warrior, Bruce Pipe On Head, Dale, Mike, & Owen Warrior.
Heather was preceded in death by her brother, Patrick N. Ten Fingers; maternal grandparents, Mary & Harvey Warrior; paternal grandparents, LeRoy Ten Fingers and Mercy (Pipe On Head) Ten Fingers; maternal great-grandparents, Stella Spider (Backbone) Warrior and Fargo Warrior; paternal great-grandparents, Mary (New Holy) Pipe On Head and James Pipe On Head; and close friend, Sage Montana.
Pallbearers will be Derek Ten Fingers, Chad Ten Fingers, Leon Ten Fingers, Jr., Leon Ten Fingers, Sr., Myron Warrior, Brandon Pipe On Head, Demetrius Arpan, and James Arpan.
