Jacob Robert Briggs Sr “Sungmanitu Ho Waste” was born on August 12, 1999 in Pine Ridge, SD to Denise Clifford and Emanuel Briggs. Jacob made his journey to the Spirit World on January 27, 2022 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Jacob is survived by his parents, Denise Clifford of Batesland, SD and Emanuel Briggs of Martin, SD; sons, Jacob R. Briggs Jr, of Pine Ridge, SD and Tre’Von L. Mesteth of Kyle, SD; siblings, Jamie Clifford of Pine Ridge, SD, Johna Clifford & Darnell Quintana, both of Batesland, SD, Damian Quintana of Hay Springs, NE, and Malakai, Emik, Mikau, & Chloe Briggs, all of Martin, SD, and Mike Clifford of Seattle, WA; and special friend, Savanna Belt.
Jacob was preceded in death by his brother, Remi Perez; grandparents, Judy Clifford, Joe Clifford, Grace Briggs, and Emanuel Chasing Bear; aunts, Gloria Clifford, AJ Clifford, and Johnny Kay Briggs; uncles, Joe Clifford, William Clifford, Ira Briggs, and John Briggs; niece, TaLaina Bianas; and cousins, Sheree Briggs, Jonnie Briggs, and Raylene Briggs.
