Burial is at St Barnabas Episcopal Cemetery in Kyle, SD
A two-night wake service starts Friday, October 29, at 2:00, also at the Wounded Knee Youth Center
Leon Clayton Richards was born on February 11, 1997 in Rapid City, SD to Thomas Lucero and Violet (Richards) Lucero. Leon made his journey to the Spirit World on October 19, 2021 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Leon is survived by his mother, Violet Richards; father, Thomas Lucero; siblings, Stormy Richards, Jasmine Richards, Anita Lucero, Daniel Lucero, Jacob Lucero, Unique Lucero, Mya Lucero, Lola Lucero, and Tommy Lucero; grandparents, Virginia Janis, Linda Lone Wolf, Ione McCloskey, Rueben McCloskey, Jr. and Ronnie Valenzuela; uncle, Conan Janis; and aunts, Satin Janis and DeSerea Richards.
Leon was preceded in death by his uncle, Dustin Janis; grandparents, Oliver Richards, Podo Virgil Richards, Lorraine Fast Horse, and Carroll Janis; and cousin, Alvin Hernandez.
Pallbearers will be Conan Janis, Daniel Lucero, Jacob Lucero, Kenny Romero, Paige Ammons, DJ Janis, Kooleo Janis, Dalando Janis, Los Janis, Rey Hernandez, Johnny Carbajal, James Lucero, and Santana Janis.
