Chadron Man Gets 13 Years For Possession Of Child Pornography

Loading

A Chadron man has been sentenced to 13-year in prison for possession of child pornography.

61-year old Bryan Morse received an enhanced sentence because of 2 prior convictions: sexual assault of a child in 1988 and enticement in 2001.

Morse will serve the entire 13 years because there’s no parole in the federal system, and he will spend 20 years on supervised release after completing his prison term.

U-S Attorney for Nebraska Jan Sharp says the case against Morse began in 2019 with tips from two social media companies about child pornography being traded using their systems.

Both tips led agents to Morse and to a search warrant being issued for his Chadron home. When it was executed in Dec 2019, authorities seized several electronic devices.

Sharp says Morse was home during the raid and told investigators he used chat rooms to trade child porn, which would be found on the seized devices. Forensic exams did reveal numerous photographs and videos depicting child pornography on them.

The case was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations as part of the nationwide local-state-federal initiative Project Safe Childhood.
