A routine traffic stop for speeding led to an arrest behind Walmart in Chadron. Chadron Police Chief Rick Hickstein said Officer Parrett ran a traffic stop last Thursday afternoon on 31 year old Harlan Stand Near Jr. Upon running a routine background check on Stand Near Jr., it was discovered he had an active warrant out of Cheyenne County in Nebraska. He was promptly taken into custody without incident.
