Former Broncos general manager John Elway is praising his successor George Payton for acquiring quarterback Russell Wilson from the Seahawks.
Elway never was able to find a suitable successor to Peyton Manning during his final few seasons in charge of the Broncos. Elway was appearing at a news conference announcing that the 2024 BMW Championship was coming to Castle Rock, Colorado.
Elway gave props to Paton for the deal that sent three players and four draft picks to Seattle for Wilson.
