The Sioux County Warriors held off several challenges by the Banner County Wildcats Saturday to get the 57-46 victory.
In their fifth win of the year, the Warriors were down early but led 12-6 by the end of the first quarter. Banner County cut a seven-point lead to within one late in the second quarter, leaving Sioux County with a narrow 23-22 advantage at the break. The Warriors netted 18 points in the third quarter, nine from Jack Hunter, who drained two treys in the stanza. Up 41-32 with eight minutes left, the Warriors put together a 16-14 run to cap the contest.
Sioux County had four players in double figures. The Warriors were led by Hunter with 13 points, while William Skavdahl and Shane Gluth each added 11. Cy Hughson contributed 10. Colton Randall added eight points, and Josh Perez went 2-2 from the free throw line.
